A friend was kind enough to buy minecraft for me, but i've been unable to play for more than five minutes before the screen goes black and the game locks up. when i force quit the game, it tells me "java(tm) platform se binary is not responding".. Are all software updates for java, your os, and graphics drivers updated. try updating all of those. is your date and time set to the right date. sometimes that confuses the system because the internet time is diffiirent to the set time.. 1) reinstalled .minecraft completely. tried bout 3 times of each possible dowload from the main website. minecraft.exe , minecraft.msi and windows ( alternative ) minecraft.exe. 2)completely reinstalled java and updated it. made sure its 64-bit version and up to date. 3)various other things considering java via control panel..
