How to Turn a Windows PC Into a Mac

How to Turn a Windows PC Into a Mac

If you’re in love the OS X interface, but prefer the customizability of your Windows PC, you can modify your Windows environment to mimic that of Mac OS X. With just a few simple programs, your desktop will be virtually indistinguishable from OS X. Follow this guide to learn how.

Method : Installing a Skin Pack By Nilotpol Bedi(All in 1)

Find a skin pack for your operating system. Skin packs are collections of skins and programs that alter the way your installation of Windows looks and functions. Mac OS X skin packs change the icons, cursors, wallpapers, screensavers, sounds, and add Mac OS X features such as the Dock and Spaces.
    • Skin packs will install multiple programs at once. For this reason, skin packs are designed for specific operating systems. Make sure to download the correct version for your operating system.
    • You can find skin packs for all the different versions of Mac OS X, including the upcoming Mavericks release.

Create a System Restore point. While most skin packs can be easily uninstalled like other programs, some systems run into issues when trying to remove the skin pack. Create a System Restore point before you install so that you have a working spot to fall back to if things go bad.
        • Open your System menu. To do this, right-click on Computer in your Start menu and select Properties. Windows 8 users can press the Windows Key + X and select System.
        • Click the System Protection link in the left menu. This will open the System Properties window, showing the System Protection tab.
        • Click the Create button. You will be asked to name the restore point, so give it a name that will help you remember that you created it just prior to installing the skin pack.

Install the skin pack. Choose Custom Installation when installing the pack, as most packs will automatically install browser toolbars and other unwanted programs unless you specify otherwise.

Reboot your computer. After the installation is complete, you will be prompted to reboot your computer to see the changes. You can either reboot now, or manually reboot later. Your changes won’t appear until you reboot your computer.
        • Some skin packs will change your boot screen as well. This can cause issues with some systems and prevent you from loading Windows. If you are unable to load Windows after installing it, boot into Safe Mode and uninstall the Bootscreen program.

        • ObjectDock will allow you to hide the Windows Taskbar, creating a more believable Mac desktop.
        • To add icons to ObjectDock, drag and drop them into the Dock. Follow the on screen instructions to edit any settings you may wish to modify.
        • RocketDock is a popular free alternative to ObjectDock.

Change your background image. Once you have your desktop looking like a Mac, use your favorite search engine to find some OS X default backgrounds. This will help create the illusion of using a Mac.
      Warning
      • Dont install Flyakite OS X. While this program does have the capability of changing the way your computer looks to a Mac, it has been known to remove several DLLs necessary for Windows to run properly, making computers very slow and unstable.
      • This will void your warranty and should only be tried by experienced computer users as it is extremely not recommended as this can cause problems. You should back up your data before you do this.
