How To Reduce Windows 10 Data Usage
1. Stop Automatic Updates

Using Group Policy
a. Open Run box, type gpedit.msc and hit Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor, and navigate to the following setting:
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update
b. Double-click on Configure Automatic Updates to open its configuration box. Select Enabled, and then from the available Options, from the drop-down menu, select Notify for download and notify for install. Click on Apply and Exit. Restart your computer.
This policy specifies whether this computer will receive security updates and other important downloads through the Windows automatic updating service.
This setting lets you specify whether automatic updates are enabled on this computer. If the service is enabled, you must select one of the four options in the Group Policy Setting:
- 2 – Notify before downloading and installing any updates. When Windows finds updates that apply to this computer, users will be notified that updates are ready to be downloaded. After going to Windows Update, users can download and install any available updates.
- 3 – (Default setting) Download the updates automatically and notify when they are ready to be installed. Windows finds updates that apply to the computer and downloads them in the background (the user is not notified or interrupted during this process). When the downloads are complete, users will be notified that they are ready to install. After going to Windows Update, users can install them.
- 4 – Automatically download updates and install them on the schedule specified below. Specify the schedule using the options in the Group Policy Setting. If no schedule is specified, the default schedule for all installations will be every day at 3:00 AM. If any updates require a restart to complete the installation, Windows will restart the computer automatically. (If a user is signed in to the computer when Windows is ready to restart, the user will be notified and given the option to delay the restart.) On Windows 8 and later, you can set updates to install during automatic maintenance instead of a specific schedule.
- 5 – Allow local administrators to select the configuration mode that Automatic Updates should notify and install updates. With this option, local administrators will be allowed to use the Windows Update control panel to select a configuration option of their choice. Local administrators will not be allowed to disable the configuration for Automatic Updates.
If the status for this policy is set to Disabled, any updates that are available on Windows Update must be downloaded and installed manually. To do this, search for Windows Update using Start. If the status is set to Not Configured, use of Automatic Updates is not specified at the Group Policy level. However, an administrator can still configure Automatic Updates through Control Panel.
Now if you open Settings Update & Security > Windows Update > Advanced Options, you will a grayed out Notify to download button and a notification saying Some settings are managed by your organization.
Now when updates are available, you will see the following popup notification. I tested this on the last 2-3 occasions when Updates were available for my PC, and every time Updates were available, Youll inform.
2. Disable Microsoft Spy
Thare you can use 4 tools to stop spying.
a. Spybot Anti-Beacon
You will have to download the portable tool. Once you have downloaded the tool, run the executable file. You will see the following window. Create a system restore point first and then click on Immunize.
This will disable the following:
• Telemetry Hosts
• Telemetry Services
• Consumer Experience Improvements Program
• Application Impact Telemetry
• Steps Recorder
• Wi-Fi Sense
• Apps using advertising ID
• P2P Windows Updates outside local network.

Cara Memperbaiki Disk Usage 100% pada Windows
#01 – Check Disk Usage Dahulu
Untuk langkah yang paling awal jika Kamu merasa kinerja dengan komputer Kamu sekarang sudah melambat, Kamu sekarang bisa mengecek dengan performa pada disk usage. Permasalah yang sering muncul dengan kinerja sangat sering terjadi karena Search pada Windows atau bisa Kamu dapatkan fitur tersebut dengan menekan “Window + Q”.Jadi untuk mengetahui dengan masalah pada disk usage, Kamu sekarang bisa melihat nya dengan menekan tombol “Ctrl + Alt + Del” Kemudian pilih Task Manager. Dan ingat, disini Kamu membutuhkan waktu yang cukup lama untuk membuka Task Manager, dikarenakan kinerja komputer atau laptop Kamu sedang lemot alias molak.
Jika sudah muncul jendela Task Manager, Kamu bisa memilih Processes pada Tab utama, kemudian klik kolom Disk. Saat ini jika Kamu mengalami masalah dengan drive performance, maka akan muncul nilai 100% dengan warna merah pada disk pertanda disk sudah mencapai tingkat yang tinggi.
Dengan demikian untuk mengatasi dengan hal tersebut, Kamu bisa melakukan langkah langkah berikut ini untuk memastikan masalah yang Kamu alami bisa terselesaikan.
#02 - Kemungkinan Malware atau Virus Sudah Menguasai Komputer Kamu
Sudah tidak bisa kita elakkan dengan masalah yang satu ini, banyak pengguna merasa tidak nyaman jika virus yang rentan terhadap kerusakan menganggu pengguna saat mereka sedang melakukan aktifitas dengan komputer atau laptop mereka. Hal pertama yang bisa Kamu tanggani adalah memastikan apakah komputer Kamu sudah diserang oleh malware atau tidak. Salah satu software yang bisa menanggani masalah ini adalah software anti virus baik itu dalam versi berbayar atau tidak. Beruntungnya bagi Windows sudah menyediakan antivirus sendiri adalah Windows Defender yang bisa menanggani masalah tersebut dengan sering update, meskipun drive yang dibebani oleh proses pemindahan atau scaning.
Nah jika ancaman telah ditemukan, Kamu harus menyegera untuk menghapus semua file yang dianggap malware kemudian lakukan restart sebelum proses pemindahan atau scaning diteruskan. Dengan langkah ini mungkin masalah dengan kinerja pada komputer atau laptop Kamu bisa terselesaikan. Jika masih bermasala, Kamu bisa melihat dengan solusi dibawah ini.
#03 – Matikan Fitur Windows Search Untuk Meningkatkan Disk Performance
Disamping itu masalah yang sering muncul juga adalah dengan windows search. Pada windows 8 dan 10 ada sebuah bug yang juga sering disebut dengan Search lopp yang berfungsi untuk meningkatkan load pada system drive.Jadi untuk menghentikan hanya sebentar saja sampai windows reboot, dengan cara buka command prompt (Admin) dengan klik pada kiri start menu dan ketikan perintah seperti dibawah ini
net.exe stop “Windows search”
Sekarang untuk memastikan apakah Windows search atau indexing secara permanen, tekan Windows + R dan ketikan “service.msc” kemudian Enter. Pada windows servive buka windows search sehingga akan terbuka windows search properties. Tepat dibawah startup type, kemudian pilih Disabled. Sekarang Kamu bisa klik atau pilih stop supaya service mati. Klik Ok untuk menyimpan perubahan.
Jika sudah melakukan langkaj diatas, otomatis windows 8x atau windows 10 akan meningkatkan kinerja pada komputer. Nah jika masih belum puas dengan kinerja sekarang Kamu bisa melakukan dengan langkah dibawah ini.
#04 – Atur Disable XX Service
Hal yang mungin jarang kita ketahui adalah dengan XX Service pada Windows. Yang merupakan salah satu alasan masalah terhadap kinerja pada komputer yang membuat lambat di windows 8x dan windows 10, untuk mengatasi masalah dengan fitur yang satu ini adalah Kamu bisa membuka Command Prompt kemudian ketikakan perintah seperti dibawah ini.net.exe stop superfetch
Pada tahap ini, Kamu harus menunggu beberapa saat, karena pada tahap ini membutuhkan waktu untuk meningkatkan kinerja pada komputer atau laptop Kamu. Penting untuk diperhatikan disini adalah, Kamu jangan lupa untuk menjalankan Check Disk di Command Prompt :
chkdsk.exe /f /r
Nantinya jika sudah selesai, Kamu akan diperintahkan untuk melakukan reboot untuk menyelesaikan proses Check Disk, pada tahap ini pastikan aplikasi yang terbukan dapat ditutup kemudian simpan terlebih dahulu data yang sedang Kamu kerjakan sehingga tidak terjadi hilang data nantinya.
Apabila benar dengan cara diatas Kamu belum puas dengan peningkatan kinerja pada komputer sekarang, Kamu tidak salahnya untuk melanjutkan dengan solusi yang Saya berikan dibawah ini demi meningkatkat kembali kinerja komputer yang sudah melambat.
#05 – Coba untuk Mengecek Flash
Paling umum kita dapatkan masalah mengenai dengan kinerja komputer yang menurun adalah salah satu yang paling rentan terjadi berasal dari Flash. Memang sangat jarang sekali sekali sekarang untuk melihat flash dikarenakan flash salah satu aspek seperti saya sebutkan diatas paling rentan terjadi. Dan efek dari pada masalah tersebut adalah pada hard disk usage 100% pada Windows 10 dan ketika Kamu menggunakan browser google chrome.chrome://plugins
Jika ingin melihat plugin flash player, Kamu bisa melihat pada video atau game yang sudah disematkan flash.
Kamu sekarang bisa menghentikan flash tersebut dengan cara klik tombol Disable dari Adobe Flash Player sampai ia bewarna abu-abu. Disini Kamu harus menunggu beberapa saat untuk menjalankan proses disable tersebut kemudian Kamu bisa mengecek Task Manager. Nah sekarang masalah kinerja pada Komputer akan teratasi, sekarang Kamu bisa melakukan restart browser Google Chrome, jika masalah masih belum teratasi.
#06 - Keadaan Disk Usage Dalam Keadaan 100%
Jika dengan beberapa cara diatas sudah Kamu lakukan dan Disk Usage pada komputer Kamu masih tetap berulah (Disk Usage 100%), maka masalah yang timbul sekarang bisa saja pada hardware yang Kamu gunakan sekarang. Menurut pengalaman Kami sendiri untuk masalah disk usage ini kami beranggapan bahwa terjadi kerusakan pada bad sector atau pada hard disk, ternyata setelah Kami selidiki adalah PSU yang mengalami kerusakan.
Jika terjadi kerusakan pada hard disk, bisa jadi hard disk yang Kamu gunakan sudah berumur dan pastika Kamu harus menyiapkan dengan yang baru untuk menggantikannya, jangan dianggap sepele dengan masalah pada hard disk, karena jika tidak diperhatikan akan mendapat dampak pada hard ware lainnya. Selain itu jika ada masalah dengan windows defrag tool adalah ketika Kamu mencoba untuk melakukan defrag hard disk tetapi Kamu menggunakan SSD, Kamu berada pada masalah yang cukup serius. Namun solusinya Kamu bisa melakukan mematikan semua task scheduler disk defrag dengan cara menekan tombol “Window + Q” kemudian masukkan task schedule dan disablekan semua.

As a result, you might find the Google Chrome browser not as fast as it once was.
Google now offers an official plugin made by them called the Data Saver extension. Whenever you have something that’s made by the folks out of Mountain View you are usually in pretty good hands. Correspondingly, only Google have the ability to create this tool because it works with their servers. Once you have the Data Saver extension installed, it creates a connection between your computer and one of the servers running in Google’s data centers to help enhance your browsing experience. Here’s how you can benefit by using the new extension:

- the Google Chrome browser if you haven’t got it already.
- the data saver extension for the Google Chrome browser.
- – this is currently in beta stages since it’s new. It will eventually see the full release, or at least it has an excellent chance of seeing it because it’s made by Google.
- Click the blue button to start the Data Saver installation.
- It will automatically appear in the top right side of the browser menu after it’s done.
- You can click the icon available to toggle the data saver on and off when you desire.
- Do note that Chrome’s Data Saver (Beta) extension supports Windows and Mac platforms. It can also enable in Chrome IOS and Android.

On Android

On iOS

• Under “Advanced,” go to Bandwidth > Data Saver.
• Slide the switch ON. You can switch this off at any time.
